The color difference between what you see on your monitor and the final printed product can be due to a variety of factors, such as:
Color Modes:
Monitors display colors in RGB (Red, Green, Blue) mode, while printers use CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black). These color modes interpret colors differently, leading to variations in the final output.
Monitor Calibration:
If your monitor is not properly calibrated, the colors you see may not accurately represent the true colors of the file.
Paper Type and Finish: The type of paper and the finish (glossy, matte, etc.) used in printing can also affect how colors appear, sometimes making them look darker or more muted compared to what you see on your screen.
Lighting Conditions: The lighting environment where you view your monitor versus where you view the printed material can also cause colors to look different.
At ElitePrintPros, we ensure that our printing process is consistent and accurate, but slight variations in color are normal due to these factors.
We do not match physical color proofs on press. Our printing process relies directly on the digital files you provide, ensuring accuracy based on the data in your file.
When designing with borders, it's important to note that achieving perfectly even borders all around is challenging. The more space you leave around the edges, the better the final result will be. If the border is too narrow, minor variations during the printing and cutting processes can cause slight unevenness.
This occurs due to several factors:
Paper Cutting:
Paper is often guillotine-cut, which can lead to slight variations in size.
Printing Tolerances:
The printing process itself has inherent tolerances.
Post-Printing Processes:
UV coating and final trimming can introduce additional minor shifts.
These factors can cause variations of up to 1/16th of an inch, which is typical in the printing industry. While we strive to maintain accuracy, it’s recommended to avoid borders when possible to ensure the best results. If borders are necessary, we’ll do our utmost to achieve evenness, but some tolerance is inevitable.
At ElitePrintPros, we exclusively print in CMYK or RGB—no Pantone, PMS, or other color systems. It's crucial to note that when files contain colors outside of the CMYK spectrum, the computer will attempt to convert them to CMYK. However, automated conversions often do not accurately reflect the intended colors. To achieve the best results, we recommend that designers manually adjust colors to CMYK before submitting their files.
UV coating is a type of surface treatment applied to printed materials to create a glossy, shiny, or matte finish. The coating is applied as a liquid and then cured using ultraviolet (UV) light, which causes it to harden instantly.
Key Benefits of UV Coating:
Enhanced Appearance:
UV coating can make colors appear more vibrant and add a premium, high-quality finish to the printed piece.
Durability:
It provides a protective layer that makes the printed material more resistant to scratches, smudges, and other types of wear and tear.
Versatility:
Available in glossy, matte, and even textured finishes, allowing for customization based on the desired look and feel of the final product.
Although some customers have done this, we do NOT recommend writting and/or printing on UV coating.
